{December 1, 2006 - FREE CHRISTMAS DOWNLOAD!}

For the month of December you can download my original Christmas song "Mary" at myspace.com/joshAllan! I wrote this song for Mix 100.3 FM in Denver's Warm & Fuzzy Christmas show; it's based on a fictional story about a love song that Joseph might have written to Mary.

Don't miss my upcoming shows with Andrea Marchant! Get details at myspace.com/andrealynnmarchant
.

Happy Holidays!

{November 11, 2006 - I'D LIKE TO INTRODUCE YOU TO...}
Thanks for making my BMI show at Genghis Cohen a huge success! I had a blast, and I hope you did as well.

I'd like to introduce you to one of the artists I've been working with - her name is Andrea Marchant, and you'll be hearing much more about her in the very near future. Check out her "introductory" website at
andreamarchant.com.

Soon I'll post some of the new songs that I've been co-writing on my MySpace page, so be on the lookout! Also, as always, I'd sure appreciate AN iTUNES REVIEW FOR "THE LET GO."

I'm going to be writing and recording for awhile, so if you don't hear from me for a bit that's why! I hope your holidays are as peaceful and present as they can be.

{November 4, 2006 - BMI, SONGWRITING, AND OTHER MUSICAL MUSINGS}
Apparently it is becoming somewhat of a terrible habit of mine to only update you every month or something; it's been almost exactly a month to the day since I posted here. For that, I apologize!

Last month (how sad) I told you I'm starting to do some co-songwriting with some amazing up-and-coming talents in the Los Angeles area, and I have been. It's been a BLAST and I am very excited to see where all these projects lead.

If you'd like to see some of these songwriter/performers, come out to my BMI Acoustic Lounge Songwriter-In-The-Round show at Genghis Cohen in Los Angeles on Monday, November 6 at 7pm - it should be a real kick in the face. But in a good way. I'm not doing too many live shows these days (as you've surely noticed), so don't miss this one!

I'll be sure to post some of the new songs that I've written with these artists on my MySpace page, soon, so be on the lookout for that. Also, as always, I'd sure appreciate AN iTUNES REVIEW FOR "THE LET GO."

{September 5, 2006 - THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM}
Truly - truly - thank you to everyone who made my Colorado shows such a blast. I had a fantastic time seeing you all, and though I didn't get to quite see everyone I wanted to, it was still a wonderful time. I hope to get back again this fall, perhaps, or for sure in the spring for some more shows.

Right now my life feels a bit like the cliched calm before the storm. Fall's coming, and I have to admit, I'm rather excited. It's been bloody hot all summer here in the Valley where I live, and some cool weather will be a nice respite, and I'm feeling the anticipation of that. Also, I'm working with a number of phenomenal up-and-coming talents on new songs and demos, which I will fill you in on with more details soon. I should have some more LA shows coming VERY soon, as well. Ah... here comes that storm. But it's a good storm. I love storms, really.

I've posted some new, and old, songs on my MySpace page, so please add one of them to your page if you're feeling charitable! Also, do me a favor when you get a chance and please WRITE AN iTUNES REVIEW FOR "THE LET GO."

{July 17, 2006 - COLORADO BOUND & THE 2TRACK IS BACK!}
Next up I'll be heading to Colorado to play a couple shows; a private event for Regis University and a songwriter in the round gig at Everyday Joe's! This one should be a blast - myself, Nate Allman, and Brian Davis will all take turns playing you our hit songs! Should be a magical evening. ;-)

THE 2TRACK IS BACK! Download a 2TRACK recording (just guitar & vocal) of a brand new song called "This Is Not Hello" at myspace.com/joshAllan.

Also, do me a favor when you get a chance and please WRITE AN iTUNES REVIEW FOR "THE LET GO." Click here!

Can't wait to see all you Colorado friends!

{June 10, 2006 - KULAK'S WOODSHED}
Wanted to give you a few more details about my show at Kulak's Woodshed on Saturday, July 15. This should be a really fun show; I'll be playing with my band again (but this time an acoustic set with a cajon and a sweet double bass... it should be real smooth) and I'm playing with a fantastic artist named Amy Kuney. If you haven't heard her, go to www.myspace.com/amykuney and listen -- I guarantee you will dig this chica.

Also, this show will be webcast live and put on a DVD, so if you'd like to be part of my first "live DVD" concert experience, please come out! And it's free -- what not to love?

Hope to see you all there...

{June 4, 2006 - NEW SONGS, NEW SET, MORE SHOWS}
Just got back from the Durango Songwriters Expo in Santa Ynez, California, and once again, I had a wonderful time! What a fun experience, getting to meet new people who are as passionate as I am about songs and music and getting feedback from those elusive "industry" types... good stuff. Highly recommended by me (you can check out www.durango-songwriters-expo.com).

I've got a slew of new songs (yes, a slew), and the only place to hear 'em is at my upcoming shows, so don't miss 'em!

See ya soon...

{May 19, 2006 - SANTA BARBARA BOUND}
So first I'm headed to SOhO on Tuesday, May 30 to play a show with Peter Bradley Adams (formerly of the fabulous eastmountainsouth) and LA favorite Jay Nash! If you're in the area, it should be a fun time. Then that weekend I'll be attending the Durango Songwriter's Expo for the 3rd straight time, which is always a blast.

Don't forget to check out the music page; you can sample every song off my new album "The Let Go." And it really should be on iTunes any day now... seriously.

Heads up for the Acoustic Playhouse on June 5 - back in Hollywood!

{May 5, 2006 - PREVIEW 'THE LET GO'}
Thanks to everybody who came out to the show at Genghis Cohen - I hadn't been there before; what a cool place! Whoever thought to combine the obvious ingredients of gourmet Chinese cuisine and acoustic music was clearly a genius.

You should check out the MUSIC page, because there's a brand new music player that will allow you to preview every song off my new album "The Let Go." AND you'll be able to purchase the album on iTunes very soon!

Put the Malibu Inn on your calendar - May 18, baby. I'll have new songs for this one!

See you then...

After my first big blowout bash at Hotel Cafe with the brand new band (oh how we love our amazing alliteration) it's time for me to get back to doing some gigs acoustic-style! Mark down Thursday, May 4 on your calendar, because we're off to the wonderful Genghis Cohen for a JA acoustical extravaganza!

Oh, and I'm giving away free CD samplers of my new album "The Let Go" again, too.

Also FYI, listen to KHZ Radio (www.khztv.com) on Friday, April 21 - they'll be playing my song "Hawaii."

And speaking of the new album, it's finally on the way! After some major delays with my distributor, I just learned this week that it's now officially on it's way to iTunes. As soon as I know more, I will let you know, but they tell me it should be available within a month.

{March 22, 2006 - FINALLY HERE/THERE (everywhere?)}
I feel terrible that I haven't updated anything in such a long time! I'm finally in California and things are going well; it's very different for me to have a full-time job in addition to doing music (although I can't say enough happy things about not making coffee all day long).

I've got some fun and exciting music things happening here in California, the laid-back land of bleach and beach; first up is my show at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood on Friday, April 14! Hope to see you there -- I'll be playing with my brand new band!

That's all I've got time for right now, but I'll keep you updated with more news soon...

{Feb 18, 2006 - OLD FRIENDS, NEW LOVERS}
Thanks to everyone who came out to my "last Colorado show" at the Louisville Center for the Arts! What a beautiful old venue, and a really fun place to play.

Next up is the big move, in addition to putting some of the finishing touches on the full-band versions of the Jaymie Trilogy songs. The biggest news right now is that the new album, The Let Go, will be available on iTunes probably the first part of March! For those of you who enjoy having the actual CD and the artwork (as I kinda do), I am planning on having those available within a couple more months, probably late spring/early summer.

To celebrate the release of the new album, I'm going to be posting four full songs from The Let Go on my MySpace page (www.myspace.com/joshAllan) this Monday, February 20th! Also, you'll be able to listen to samples of the entire album on "The Let Go" page.

Hope you're all warm & happy -- it's disturbingly cold in Colorado right now, but I guess one out of two ain't bad for me...!  See ya...

{Feb 9, 2006 - HAPPY COWS IN CALIFORNIA}
Wow, I've really been meaning to write, but I'm just now getting to it.  I just got back from a short trip to California, and it looks like the move is finally going to happen!  If all goes as planned, I should be out there by March 1st!  For all my Colorado friends, don't worry -- I'll be back fairly often!

In album news, I've finally completed the new record: The Let Go!  I am very pleased with how it turned out, and it should be available for digital purchase on iTunes sometime around the end of the month. I'll be sure to tell you when I have an official release date.

Also, I went back into the studio again this week to start production on full-band recordings of The Jaymie Trilogy (if you don't have any clue what that is, go here). The ever-amazing Brian McRae (on drums) and Scott Bugher (on bass) absolutely ROCKED it, and I'm very excited about how these songs are going to turn out.

That's it for now!

{Feb 1, 2006 - AHH, A NEW WEBSITE... NOW THAT'S TASTY}
Welcome to the brand new joshAllan.com! I'll let you know right off that bat that The Let Go section isn't available yet; it will be when the new album (which is coincidentally titled, ahem, The Let Go) is released on an as-yet undetermined date (but this month). For now, I can recommend a couple things to check out: a brand new bio, an updated list of radio stations where you can hear my music, and the brand spankin' all-new redesigned MySpace page!

Speaking of MySpace,
don't forget that I release a new 2TRACK (that's a piano/vocal or guitar/vocal if you're not familiar) to download for free on the 1st of every month at myspace.com/joshAllan. In celebration of the new website, I decided to post the entire Jaymie Trilogy for you to download. "What's the Trilogy?" you may be asking. Well, it's made up of three songs (Cincinnati, Hey Jaymie, and Dearest Charley) that tell the story of a girl named Jaymie who doesn't deal so well with conflict. Listen and download them here. FYI, I'm going back into the studio next week to make full-band recordings of all three of these songs, so look for them soon!

Also, for all my MySpace friends who made it the long trek over here, please note that all the news items I used to post in my blog will now be posted right here on this page. Thanks everybody; talk to you soon!
