One of my best friends in the world does music at a church outside Boulder, Colorado. This church's pastor got into some kind of trouble (what, I honestly never found out), and was asked to temporarily step down. This was a HUGE deal by the way - this church is a very large gathering point for thousands of people, and they really are doing a lot of good for the community, which is fantastic.

But when this leader was removed from his position, the gravity of the situation settled on me heavy and hard.

We expect so much from leaders. Perhaps highly unrealistic amounts of perfection. Humans have a gross tendency to scrutinize each other to the point of weakness; where the line of expectation and realism gets blurry is where life seems to get really messy.

And I just felt really bad for the guy.
